Hi Sophie,

I don't go to many conferences any more, but I tend to drop in to ones in Montreal. When CHI was here in 2006, I even wrote the local guide (http://hcibib.org/perlman/guide.html), which you might appreciate.

Thanks for the feedback. It seems that all or most of the complaints are
 	[-Wformat-extra-args]
so my advice is to stop the complaints. Googling, I found this:

-Wno-format-extra-args

If '-Wformat' is specified, do not warn about excess arguments to a printf or scanf format function. The C standard specifies that such arguments are ignored.

So it might work to change:

CFLAGS =-O#                                   C Compiler Options

to:

CFLAGS =-O -Wformat#                                   C Compiler Options

If that doesn't work (it is not clear to me that it would), I'd try:

CFLAGS =-O -Wformat=0#                                   C Compiler Options

or

CFLAGS =-O -Wformat=1#                                   C Compiler Options

I think one of the last two will work.

Dear Sarah,

Please excuse my cluelessness, but it sounds like you want to promote traffic to
a specific website. If that site is relevant to HCI, there are categories of links
at hcibib.org where you can suggest a link:
 	http://hcibib.org/links
If it's relevant, I'd be happy to link to it, otherwise, not. There are no charges.

If, instead, you want an article on hcibib.org, do you mean something like this
article from 1999?
 	http://www.webword.com/interviews/perlman.html
I'm willing to help people find HCI resources and publications.

I have had bad experiences with well-meaning people distributing modified
C source code and compiled executables that did not work.

I'd be happy to share the web form code. It's some simple perl CGI scripts:
  354  1226  9569 stat.pl (included in the others)
   32   102   630 calc.cgi
   61   159  1431 desc.cgi

   57   206  1405 rankrel.cgi
   55   176  1294 regress.cgi
  819  2692 20560 total

The |STAT C source code is part of the |STAT distribution:
