Thanks so much!!

Now, could you please change the ownership of the hcibib directory:

 	drwxrwsr-x 34 root web 12288 Jul 23 10:41 /acminfo/5/hcibib/

I think running this as root will work:

 	# chown perlman:hcibib /acminfo/5/hcibib

That would put hcibib.org in good shape (and stop my daily emails).

Hey Scooter,

Yes, glimpse is installed (yay) but it's a new version that has new bugs in it
(boo), so I am looking into alternatives (other search tools, google indexing).
Glimpse has done this twice before, so I am committed to avoiding it. I don't think
ACM can do any more right now for hcibib.org, but it's pretty badly crippled.

About the sigchi pages, there is a problem that ACM could fix. Most sigchi pages
have a link to a stylesheet:
 	http://www.acm.org/sigchi/sigchi.css
The link above fails, but the following works:
 	http://acm.org/sigchi/sigchi.css
as does the following:
 	http://sigchi.org/sigchi.css
So, ACM should fix the server so that the first one, the one most used, also works.
This was broken on the sigchi home page for two weeks before I repaired
it manually; it's a generated page so the manual fix will go away the next time
it is generated (not that I know how it is generated).

 	misc:
 		http://sigchi.org/volunteers/
 			shows link to chi 2004

Anyway.... This was a really poorly planned change of servers. I found out
about the change with a few day's notice (and while I was on vacation).
Although ACM provided a way to test things, it was not a way that I could use.
When the server changed, lots of things were broken, and ACM did not
answer repeated mail messages. Even if they were scrambling with more
important fixes, they could have installed an auto-reply.

Hi Jay,

My wife, Caroline Palmer, moved to McGill to have more colleagues in her area.
We came here three years ago. Our kids speak French better that I do. I
kept my job in Columbus, and now I telecommute. Life is good.

Enjoy the Bay Area. We spent a year there in 93-94 when Caroline was
at the CASBS.

Gary
